re:Action Photography was started in 2002 and has been digital all that time. We specialize in action photography for figure skating, dance, cheerleading and gymnastics events. We are also available to cover corporate events and private parties and will do selected other sports on request.
Our main photographer and company founder, Marie Hughes, picked up her first camera when she was eight and has been shooting for almost forty years. Her pictures have appeared in the Ledger Dispatch (part of the Contra Costa Times), in advertisements, and on numerous gymnastics and skating magazines and web sites.
Marie's philosophy is that action photography is about more than just capturing peak action -- it's about people. Her goal is to capture the emotions that go into an event and tell a story while still getting exciting action shots. It is this unique approach that has made re:Action Photography in demand at events all around the San Francisco Bay Area.
