I've got my CD. Now what?
The first thing you should do is copy your images onto your computer. You can work with images on the CD, but it will be slower and you won't be able to edit them.
In order to find your images later, experts recommend coming up with a good naming system. Most people either divide their images by subject or by date.

It doesn't really matter what system you use as long as you have a system. By organizing your files on your hard drive using some sort of naming system, you will always be able to find them again later without having to search all over the place or invest in cataloging software.
Once you've copied your files from the CD, you are ready to start using them. You may want to view them with a Picture Viewer or you may want to jump right to enhancing them with a Photo Editor.
